Remove Faucet Without Basin Wrench
A large number of people prefer to dispose of their plumbing problems on their own rather than hiring a professional. There is no doubt that repairing and installing kitchen faucets can be tricky, especially if you do not have the right tools.
It is very important that we have at least one kitchen faucet in our kitchen due to the fact that it is flexible, convenient and very useful. With a good kitchen faucet, we are able to wash and take care of our kitchen effectively.
However, this great piece of equipment can cause a number of issues in the kitchen over time. Some of the problems that may occur are water leakage, low water pressure, rust, improper workmanship, etc.
As a result, there may come a time when we need to remove the faucet to deal with the problems that have arisen. In such a case, a basin wrench will make the job much easier.
What is Basin Wrench or Sink Wrench ?
An effective way to remove and install a faucet is to use a basin wrench, also called a sink wrench.

How to Remove Faucet Without Basin Wrench
Step 1: Shut off the valves
Step 2: Open the Spigot
If the pressure bubble in your spigot does not disappear within a few minutes, open the spigot and let it free.
This step will make it easier to remove the faucet after pressure has been released.
Step 3: Unplug Water Supply Lines to the Faucet
There was no difficulty following the previous steps, however, detaching the water lines may give you some difficulty.
Do not worry, we will guide you by making it as easy as possible.
It is recommended that you use the channel lock pliers in this case because you will have to detach the water line for the kitchen faucet.
You can attach your channel lock pliers securely to the kitchen’s water line by using your channel lock pliers.
Once attached, carefully remove the channel lock pliers. If you plan to keep the pliers attached to the waterline, you will need to handle them carefully.
You could potentially damage your kitchen’s faucet and water line if you are not cautious when performing this task.
Step 3: Unscrew and Remove the Mounting Nuts
Due to the mineral content of water, and depending on how old your faucet is, it may be responsible for rusting the mounting nuts.
You should spray some penetrating oil or put grease on the mounting nuts and let it dry for a while. By doing so, the process will be smoothed out.
As a quick explanation, mounting nuts are used for attaching the faucet to the sink and are attached with bolts.
Step 4: Take The Hose Off
The kitchen faucet can now be safely removed from the sink and placed in a safe location. Afterwards, you can very easily clean each part of the faucet by removing them one by one.
The faucet can then be reinstalled to the sink and its mounting nuts, water lines, as well as its valves attached again after cleaning.
Remove it with a putty knife or plastic scraper if it sticks as you lift it. Clean the sink and its base with a cloth afterwards.
Remove all waste and debris from the faucet, then mix warm water with dish soap and use a soft, scrubbing pad or brush to clean it. Rust and mineral deposits can be removed with vinegar.
You’re done !!! Congrats.
